I saw more than 20 featured and competing films. Mostly free entrance because my student was the one at the gate of the theater (YCAP requirement).

There was this screening of The Professional at the Main theater of the Manila Film Center when the earth shook. It's an earthquake. I was so scared remembering that the structure had just been constructed.

Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon were presenters during the awards night.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03590729717513734695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2382077977852320856.post-14346705313933329992014-06-02T09:59:35.947+08:002014-06-02T09:59:35.947+08:00Good day! Cannot quite remember the competing films in the 1981 MIFF, although it brings to my mind a number of films in exhibition during the entire festival among them, THE CLINIC and our very own ORO, PLATA, MATA, if I am not mistaken.. Also, the lone Japanese film IN THE REALM OF THE SENSES which some, seriously or not, said was an "erotic trash", lol! Surprisingly, the said film had actual penetration scene, so they say.. I wasnt able to watch the last-day screening of it at the Folk Arts Theater.. It was a queue, really! I even saw celebrities getting in line like spouses Michael de Mesa and Gina Alajar.. there.. just sharing..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2382077977852320856.post-21475908122796396522010-08-22T15:17:56.098+08:002010-08-22T15:17:56.098+08:00hi. great to have found this on the internet. i...hi. great to have found this on the internet. i've been trying to recall the films i've seen during the festival. i remember one particular film, 'looping' about circus folks but it was not here. just wondering.
great job and effort you're doing. many thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2382077977852320856.post-54331614618442798792010-04-12T10:03:52.689+08:002010-04-12T10:03:52.689+08:00I also remember screenings of "Evil Under the...I also remember screenings of "Evil Under the Sun" an Agatha Christie adaptation, starring Peter Ustinov.
