James, was the setting of the movie during the Spanish time? Mukhang naka Elvis Presley sideburn si Eddie Gutierrez, hehehe! Joke lang!

Simon, Spanish time nga ang setting, napansin mo rin pala yung ala-Elvis sideburn ni Eddie G.! (Ha-ha!).

James:

This title must had been taken from MARUJA'S song "ADIOS MI AMOR". Remember that scene in Maruja where Susan Roces sung the number while playing the piano? I wonder if they used the song here as well?

Anyway, the Maruja number went something like this (I hope it's available in You tube so I can have a copy of my own)

:)

Kay inam gunitain
ng ating pag-iibigan hirang
Ang langit ang siyang saksi sa
ating pagsuyong walang maliw.

Subali't lubhang kay lupit
sa atin ng tadhana,
Kahi't tapat sa sumpa,
Tayo'y hindi pinagpala.

Mabuti pang pumanaw
kung ang puso'y sawi
Paalam na mahal ko,
Adios mi amor.

Maruja sung this number at the party before she killed herself.
Just too bad this film is no longer around but I'd say it was one of Susan's best, if not the best.

Thanks, JM! Actually, di ko na matandaan yung kanta na yun sa Maruja. It's good that you still remember the song and the lyrics. Mai-research nga! I totally agree with you, Maruja was one of Susan's best.
